The concrete crusher develops a high breaking power with hydraulic pressure, which is supplied by the load-bearing device. The crusher’s performance is independent of the performance of the load-bearing device.

The integrated pressure intensifier converts the hydraulic pressure of the load-bearing device into a higher pressure correct for the concrete crusher. The material to be broken off is taken between the crusher tips.

By pushing the closing button on the control box of the carrier (mini-excavator/demolition robot) the jaws will close and break (crush) the reinforced concrete. On the same process the cutting blades easily can seize and cut the reinforcement bars.

Using the same class of carrier vehicle the Darda crusher has more substantial advantages compared to demolishing with hydraulic hammers: - Just one tool can break concrete with the breaking tips and at the same time cut steel reinforcements with the reinforcement cutters. - An economic demolition of a ceiling is no problem with the Darda concrete crusher. - The Darda crusher allows a well-aimed demolition, i.e. there is no danger of cracks unintentionally weakening the concrete structure.

Darda is the specialist for concrete crushers which despite their compact size and with just a mini-excavator as a carrier vehicle - can easily compete with the power of bigger and heavier crushers. The “secret” lies in the fact that Darda concrete crushers are independent of the pressure of the carrier vehicle. This is made possible through a special pressure intensifier. Thus, the weight of the crusher can be kept so low that a mini-excavator is sufficient.  

The Concrete Crusher CC 420 is so to speak a powerful lightweight. Despite its compact dimensions it has a crushing force of up to 374 kN (38 tons) and an opening width of 420 mm. Therefore, it can break reinforced concrete parts with a thickness of up to 40 cm. The enormous crushing force at the crushing tips is already achieved with an input hydraulic pressure of 185 bar (18,5 MPa). With the cutting force of up to 1240 kN (126 tons) reinforcements of a maximum diameter of 28 mm can well be separated.

The advantages of this combination of power and compactness become particularly evident with demanding demolitions. One example are demolition works within buildings and interior rooms for which the power of big crushers on heavy carriers is usually indispensable. Due to limited space conditions and bearing capacities of the ceilings these cannot be employed, however. In contrast, mini-excavators with a weight between 2 and 4 tons and a mounted Concrete Crusher CC 420 usually do not pose any problems. Even strong, reinforced concrete structures such as elevator shafts, pillars and concrete walls can be torn down efficiently with the CC 420.
